PCFi Church Paphos Cyprus

What is our vision

The Leadership recognises that every church requires a specific 'vision' from God for 'without a vision, the people perish' (Proverbs 29:18), or as the NIV renders this verse: '...where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint,...'. The value of a vision for any task is that it both clarifies what we do, and also what we do not do.

Our Mission Statement or Tag line is taken from a verse given nearly 3 years ago by a church member. It comes from Matthew's Gospel chapter 6:

"Seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you"

As a town mentioned as a key part of St Paul's first missionary journey in Acts 13 v13, we can also add a bit to it. Hence, our Mission statement could be written:

"Looking Up... Reaching Out... In the power of the Spirit"

As we do this and clarify His purposes for us, we will be able to state our vision on this page with clarity.

Please pray for us.

Latest news

2006: As a Church Leadership, we have been looking at our Constitution so that it may aid our purpose & vision. This involves a change from the original 'club style' of constitution required under Cypriot Law, to a more 'church style'. This will then include Elders (spiritual oversight/ directors) and Deacons (Managers)

2006: We planted out a congregation in the Polis area of Paphos District with an independent church now established- CCoP.

2006/7: J John & Andy Econimedes are both Cypriot born and naturally have a heart to see their country folk (along with many other nationalties who live here) brought to know Jesus. We have our first 'FGBMFI- type' meal in mid November 2006 with a view to doing just this.

2007: We had a 'Vision Conference' of those involved in Prayer, Leadership & Intercession in January 2007. We felt God was implanting certain things for us today uniquely and apart from other local churches. However, one very strong impression was that we were also to work as closely as possible with other denominations.

2008: We are planning for visits by J John and Andy Econimeds in early 2008 followed by Tony Anthony (author of best seller 'Taming the Tiger') in October.
